3D Planning with TrichoLAB

The technology behind our name. We use TrichoLAB’s 3D Transplanner and advanced trichoscopy to plan your treatment objectively — so decisions are based on data, not guesswork.

The Technology We Use

What is TrichoLAB?

TrichoLAB is a professional hair-restoration technology suite used by leading hair clinics internationally. It combines medical-grade scalp imaging (trichoscopy) with the 3D Transplanner — software that maps your donor supply and models a proposed hairline in three dimensions.

It’s the reason we’re called 3D Hair Transplant: rather than estimating by eye, Dr Alex or Dr Ranadi uses objective measurements and 3D planning to design a treatment tailored to your hair, your goals and what your donor area can realistically support.

We’re one of only a small number of clinics in Australia to use TrichoLAB’s 3D Studio in-house. Because your plan is built on measurements rather than guesswork, you can see your proposed result in 3D during your consultation, and your doctor walks you through the graft numbers and the reasoning in person — so you understand exactly why your plan is what it is, with no pressure to decide on the day.

TrichoLAB is a diagnostic and planning technology — it supports the doctor’s assessment and does not itself perform any procedure.

Advanced 3D Planning

The 3D Transplanner

The 3D Transplanner lets your doctor plan and explain your treatment in three dimensions — before anything begins — using objective measurements rather than estimates by eye.

Donor capacity, measured

Estimates the realistic graft capacity of your donor area by mapping density across different regions — so the plan is grounded in what your hair can actually support.

Precise graft distribution

Helps plan where grafts are placed and how they’re distributed, so density is directed to where it matters most for a natural result.

See the plan in 3D

A three-dimensional model helps you understand the proposed hairline and design, and discuss it openly with your doctor before you decide.

About 3D simulations. A 3D plan is an illustrative planning tool, not a guarantee of your result. Simulations show a proposed design and are used to aid discussion and decision-making — they do not predict an exact outcome. Actual results depend on individual factors including donor supply, hair characteristics, healing and adherence to aftercare, and vary between individuals.

From Scan To Simulation

See a 3D scan become a plan

A real 3D scalp scan, mapped for hair loss and then simulated with a proposed result — the same process your doctor walks you through in your consultation.

Advanced Diagnostics

Trichoscopy & hair-loss analysis

Before planning any procedure, we assess the health of your scalp and hair using high-magnification trichoscopy. It’s quick, non-invasive and painless — no cuts or biopsy — and it gives an objective picture of what’s happening.

  • Measures hair density and hair-shaft diameter
  • Assesses follicular units and signs of miniaturisation
  • Evaluates donor-area quality and suitability
  • Tracks the same scalp spot over time for accurate follow-up

Findings inform whether a transplant is appropriate for you — including when it isn’t — and whether other options may suit you better.

In Your Consultation

How 3D planning fits your journey

1

Scan & image

We capture standardised, high-magnification images of your scalp and donor area.

2

Analyse

Density, diameter and donor capacity are measured objectively — not estimated by eye.

3

3D plan

Your doctor designs and reviews a proposed hairline and graft plan with you in 3D.

4

Decide together

You get a clear, realistic picture of your options and can make an informed decision.

Your free online and photo assessments carry no charge. The in-clinic 3D scalp analysis and consultation carries a fee that is fully refunded against the cost of any hair transplant procedure you have with us.

Why It Matters

Data-driven, transparent, honest

Technology doesn’t replace the doctor — it supports better decisions. Using TrichoLAB, your doctor can plan with precision, set realistic expectations, and show you the reasoning behind every recommendation.

Precision

Objective measurements guide a plan built around your individual donor supply and goals.

Transparency

You see the assessment and the plan, and understand the “why” behind the advice.

Measurable follow-up

Consistent imaging lets us track change accurately over time, not just by impression.
